Sens’Flower New Generation
Introduction
A DELICATE FLOWER FOR SENSITIVE SKIN
For centuries, Saffron has been used for its multiple virtues: as a precious spice, a natural dye, and for its medicinal and cosmetic benefits. Known as ‘red gold’, it takes time, patience and skill to harvest this plant, Crocus sativus.
Inspired by the versatility of the plant, our experts have discovered the powerful potential of the saffron crocus flower. Committed to our CSR policy of utilizing by-products, once the spice has been harvested we collect the remaining flower to develop our active ingredient, Sens’flower.

Since 2017, sensitive skin is a legitimate dermatological syndrome. Its official definition is “a syndrome defined by the occurrence of unpleasant sensations (stinging, burning, pain, itching, and tingling sensations) in response to stimuli that normally should not provoke such sensations. These unpleasant sensations cannot be explained by lesions due to any skin disease. The skin may appear normal or may be accompanied by erythema. Sensitive skin can affect all body locations, especially the face”. Sensitive skin can also be divided into naturally sensitive skin and environmentally sensitive skin, as the name suggests, this type of sensitivity is triggered by the environment and especially the exposome. An accumulation of several external stimuli such as environmental factors (UV, pollution, climate changes), lifestyle (diet, smoking…), mechanical abrasions (such as shaving…) the microbiome (either skin or atmospheric) and of course internal factors such as hormonal changes, stress...
At SEQENS Personal Care, we were inspired by the challenges of environmentally sensitive skin to develop an active ingredient from the saffron crocus: Sens’flower™. After the spice is harvested, we keep the flower, a by-product, of this precious plant, which is usually thrown away. Specially designed to care for environmentally sensitive skin, Sens’flower is rich in glycosylated flavonoids : quercetin & kaempferol. Known as “red gold”, the flower blooms in the fall and is ephemeral: it opens for only 48 hours before withering and must be harvested by hand. For centuries, saffron has been used for its many virtues: as a precious spice, as a natural dye, and for its medicinal and cosmetic benefits such as analgesic and tonic.
